Hi Mommies, Daddies
He copied these info from Kids Central and told me that he would love to go watch their concert but when I went to check the SISTIC webiste, I could find the hi5 concert.
Any idea if the info is accurate and if yes, where can I get the tickets?
The boy took the effort to copy the info.
So, just don’t want to dissapoint him.
Besides, the duo love hi5.
Many Thanks in advance.

Stretched and Stressed March 22, 2006

So much has happened and is happening. I find myself stealing time in between solving renovation problems, marking, preparing lessons and writing my masters degree’s assignment to watch yiHang draw, to nurse and snuggle yiXiang, to read to the bunz and to enjoy their company.
The renovation is almost complete.
yiHang attended his classmate’s birthday party last week. We were surprised to see our baby, yiXiang independently joined in the games and the activities with his big brother. It felt like yesterday, when he was in my arms all the time, needing me every moment. Lots of pictures. Unfortunately, my lab top broke down. Actually, ‘fortunately’, because the warranty ends in a couple of weeks. They will be replacing a new screen for me. But that will be another couple of weeks, cause they don’t have ex-stock for screens!
Hand-Foot-Mouth Fright! March 22, 2006

Tian How called to tell me that yiHang’s kindergarten notified us that he has been isolated because they found ulcers at the back of his tongue during their daily routine checks and suspected hand-foot-mouth!
The all too familiar feeling came back – the feeling of fear, of helplessness, of weakness, of denial, of being lost, of not knowing what to do, of breathlessness, of sweaty palms, of palpating heart, of fighting back the tears, of whirling mind – the exact feeling that I had when yiHang was not thriving, when he was diagnosed with the rare genetic condition, when yiXiang had to be rushed to the hospital because of seizures, when his diarrhea could not stop – the feeling that never fails to consumed me whenever the bunz are in any sort of danger.
My dad rushed to pick yiHang up and then came to pick me up from work before heading to the pediatrician. I got my in laws to stand by, the maid to pack and get ready to stay over at my in-laws place with yiXiang for a couple of days. My mom sprang into action, surfed the web for the clinic’s number and contacted his pedaitrician. Every member of the family was on red alert!
Every second seemed like hours and I must have called my dad countless times to check whether he has picked yiHang, where they were, how long more before reaching my school … My heart sank when my dad confirmed that there were big red ulcers at the back of his tongue.
yiHang looked well when I saw him. His usual jovial, bo-chap self with lots of demands and countless stories to tell. No fever. No pain. Oblivious of what was going on.
And guess what! The pead said that those blister looking things at the back of yiHang’s tongue are actually his TASTE BUDS! Well, yiHang who lacks the jaw bone because of HED, is able to stick his tongue all the way out and that was how our taste buds were supposed to look like – red, blister-like – deep in the tongue!
With the certification that yiHang is fit for school, my dad send him all the way back to school so that he would not miss his extended day Chinese classes.
Everyone heaved a sigh of relieve.
That night, when hubby and I were discussing about renovation, about using walnut colour for our floor laminate, the little rascal but in and said, “Yeah .. yeah …walnut .. a WALL with lots of NUTS inside it … that’s call WALLNUT!”
And I snuggled up close to him, he suddenly pointed to my arm-pit and said “Eeek … mummy, what is this furry-furry thing!!!!” (Hey! I shaved okie … just a few stay strands that were overlooked!)
Tears just rolled down my cheeks as I prayed that God will continue to bless the boys with good health.

Friday
Met up with the Feng Shui Master in the afternoon. Felt bad that we have neglected the boys, so we decided to take everyone, including Kakak, out for dinner. We went to STAR furniture to order their bed room set and then to Mache to fill our stomachs.
While yiXiang was asking to taste every food that was laid on the table, even PaPa’s beer, yiHang was more interested in playing in the Safari.
It’s been a weekly affair. yiHang stayed over at Kong Kong’s home.
Saturday
yiHang had requested Kong Kong and Por Por to bring him for American breakfast at Bishan Park. The boy really knows how to enjoy himself. Was a good break from our hectic schedule.
The rest morning was spent at our new home – most of our barang arrived that morning. We also looked around for defects. The kids were at my parents place and we joined them for lunch. Rushed back to our new home after lunch to meet with the carpenter and contractor. Managed to order our L-shape sofa before dinner at my in-laws home. Sneaked out after dinner to Tanjong Katong complex to look at curtains.
Sunday
My parents-in-laws come over to our new place to help us look for defects and recommend rectifications. Thus, another morning of leaving the boys behind with their Kakak. Grab a bite and went home for a power nap. Then off we went to scout for lights. We made it home slightly before the boys’ bedtime – to discover that yiHang’s fever shot up to near 40oC.
The rest of the Week
Had yiHang slept with me. Set the alarm and pulled myself up at 3am to check on his fever and to sponge him. I was exhausted. yiHang’s fever continued to fluctuate. Fortunately, my parents in law came over to keep an eye on them from Monday to Wednesday. yiHang’s fever subsided by Thursday and made it to school on Friday to celebrate St Patrick’s day.
Met up with Carpenter to discuss colour scheme at 10pm on Monday! Went for lessons on Tuesday and discussed solid tops colours with hubby and confirm with carpenter that night. Continued to check on the progress of renovation almost everyday. More Problems! And today, had to get my colleague to send me home to get the keys to our new home and rushed down there to passed them to the air-con contractor who carelessly locked himself out of the room leaving his equipment and passport inside! Everyday, fresh problems, big headache!
The renovation is scheduled to complete by end March. Hope that this crazy hectic lifestyle will end by early April when we shift into our new pad. Above all these, I have my studies to juggle with.
Sigh! Even Super Woman needs Chicken Essence and rest too.
Tonight
Brought the boys to their favourite makan place – TCC.
The Homeschool Plan March 11, 2006

Amidst all the busy-ness, I was overwhelmed with the sudden sense or urgency to plan yiHang’s home schooling programme and to prepare him for his primary school education. Of course, I’ve received lots of inspiration from Delci and her homeschooling blog. Her ideas and dedication truly inspires me.
As I am a working mom, I would not be able to dedicate as much time as I would love to in coaching yiHang. Hence, I shall not stress myself with a schedule or timetable. Rather, I will choose a topic to focus on and when it’s completed, move on to the next. OTOT – Own Time, Own Target.
I shall start by listing down what I need to teach him, following the syllabus stipulated by the Minitsry of Education. I will not be using the recommended text as this will bore the child to death when he enters school. Rather, I intend to design my own curriculum to cover the syllabus in a fun and gratifying way.

Chatter Box! March 11, 2006

June 2000. A week before our customary wedding. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon. At a café. A man buried behind the newspaper. His woman gazed at the world went by. Not a whisper. Not a word.
And as I was sipping my cold latte, I wondered if Tian How and I would ever run out of things to talk to each other one day.
Not a chance!
We talked, we discussed, we quarreled, we criticized, we argued, we joked … we could hardly keep our mouths shut when we are with each other.
.. unless we are staring at the computer screen … like now!
Then again, we chat via the MSN! And it’s easier to say the three little words in cyberspace. Weird!
XOXO
City Planning March 2, 2006

This is yiHang’s city, built with Mega Bloks.
We were impressed with the way yiHang plans the traffic flow in his city.
When entering the city, vehicles have to keep left because the traffic light on the left is green while the one on the right is red. Likewise, when coming out from the city. Notice how he has placed the green and red traffic lights diagonally opposite of each other so that the vehicles will flow in and out of the city in a certain direction without confusion and congestion.
